COVID-19 Precautions for 2021-2022 School Year

Per the guidelines provided by the Marion County Health Department, these are the COVID protocol we will folllow at Village:

-All staff and children will have their temperature checked and recorded each morning before school. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 ℉ will not be allowed to come to school for 10 days unless a doctor’s note is provided assuring your child does not have COVID-19.

-Children must be fever-free for 72 hours (without fever-reducing medication) before returning to school.

-Children will use hand sanitizer upon arrival.

-We ask that families report any incidence of ill health within the immediate family of our students.

-We ask families to report any incidence of unprotected exposure to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

-All students and staff will wear masks while indoors.

-Students do not have to wear masks outdoors

-We will continue to use air filters designed to remove particulates from the air.

-Proper handwashing technique will be taught.

-Hand sanitizer will be used outside.

-Doorknobs and heavy-use surfaces will be cleaned regularly.

-We are adding extra cleaning of our classroom area in addition to our existing professional cleaning schedule.

-An adult will serve snacks and refill water bottles from a water station. We will take extra precautions at lunch to keep children safe.

Covid symptoms include the following:

Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea

We recognize that many of these symptoms are the same as the common cold. If you child is experiencing any of these symptoms, we ask that you keep your child home for the day and go to the doctor. The doctor can determine whether a Covid test is necessary. We also request that you then keep your child home until he or she is symptom free.

If one of our students has an exposed sibling who is at home under quarantine, then we ask that our student also stay home for five days until the sibling tests negavitve for Covid.
